usually u can hold down the F8 or F12 keys when starting it up, to bring up the boot menu. then just select safe mode and go from there.
2 :
tap the F8 key at start up, use arrow keys and the enter key to use that page that pops up.

It is depend from many reasons. If notebook is turned off it will take 2-3 hours.

To fully charge up to 100% would probably take 4-6 hours. But the charging is not linear. 10% to 50% is faster than 50% to 90%, and above 90% the charging rate slows way down to prevent any chance of overcharging and damaging the battery. You do not need to charge it to 100% every time. You can charge it to 50% and unplug from the AC adapter. You just will not get as long on battery. The red light is a warning to say that your battery is getting really low, and it would be a good idea to either wrap up what you are doing or plug it in to the adapter.
