Clean it when the screen is turned off (never when its on, for various reasons). Use a soft lint-free cloth with warm water or a little bit of windex. Don't push hard on it.

With the laptop OF wipe the screen with a clean cloth slightly dampened with clean water wipe from side to side and with little or no pressure wait for the screen to dry completely before turning the laptop back on. Do not use chemical cleaners or window cleaners on your screen A micro fiber cloth is very good for this job

If you swing by Wal-Mart where they have all the computer stuff they have a special cleaning kit. There is even a static electrity remover. It helps keep lint away from the screen.

A laptop computer screen that you can't see is no good to you. You have to be able to see what you are working on, so keep your screen clean. The following are some options for keeping your laptop screen clean. Step 1 Spray the screen with an LCD cleaner for Flat Panel Monitors and Notebooks. These are found in a computer store and do not contain alcohol or ammonia which are found in most commercial glass cleaners. The products are advertised to cut through finger prints and other hard to clean residues. Follow the manufacturer's directions on the package for best results. Step 2 Wet a towel lightly with water and wipe the screen down. Be gentle so you don't damage the screen. Step 3 Clean the screen with a water-soap mixture. Wet a towel with water and add a small amount of soft liquid soap. Wipe down the screen. Use a second water-only towel to remove any left over soap residue. Step 4 Clean with hexane. Hexane is a chemical made from oil and when mixed with solvents is used in a variety of mediums. One use is for cleaning. It is colorless yet has a strong smell. Use with caution. Step 5 Clean the laptop screen with Petroleum Benzine. Petroleum Benzine is another colorless substance that is highly flammable. It has a potent smell, but is often used to clean laptop screens. Step 6 Ask the computer experts at your local computer center what to do if none of these steps are working. Never use windex or harsh cleansers on a laptop screen! They can yellow laptop screens, or leave spots. Cleansers with ammonia are especially bad, as they can permanently harm the screen. Use a 1:1 solution of water and isopropyl alcohol. Spray or dampen a soft cloth, like an old cotton tshirt, and clean your screen with that. Be gentle! Don't spray it on the screen because you don't want to get the keyboard or other electronic components wet.
