Will a high-end Lenovo laptop be able to run music production software without problems?
I am looking at buying a laptop for college in a few months, and for a requirement I have to get a pretty decent computer (i7 chip, 1TB external HD, etc). I also produce music, and am wondering if a laptop versus a PC will be able to smoothly run Sonar 8 or any major production software? Should I worry about overheating, or what other things? Eh just realized i forgot to mention, but I'll probably have at least 6GB of DDR3 RAM

go to the website of the software that you want to run the should have system req.if you have those you should be ok.look for a quad core processor,tb hard drive, and as much ram as you can stuff.the sound would be the only problem i could think of.most laptops have sucky sound cards,so the playback on it may suck.but you can listen to it right on another system.it will record true.

I have the experience that overheating depends on the brand, i have used many but i will say that lenovo heats rapidly and also it is not upto the performance you require. i will suggest you to not to go for anything else but sony, and the best model for you is Sony VAIO VPC-F13YFX/B 16.4-Inch laptop, it is here for a nice deal: http://amzn.to/edVznU Look at its stunning specifications: Quad Core Intel Core i7 processor (1.73GHz) with Turbo Boost Technology (2.93GHz) Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 16.4" (1600x900) widescreen display 6GB of RAM & 640GB Serial ATA HDD NVIDIA GeForce GT 425M (1GB) graphics I have found its review for you also: http://amzn.to/dIMnQH
