How can I downgrade from Vista to XP, on my new Lenovo T400 laptop?
I have a XP Professional CD (and yes, it's legit), and I do not like Vista, which was pre-equipped with the laptop. When I insert the CD, it does not give me the option to install XP; what should I do?

Go to your BIOS and make it so that your computer boots from a CD before going to the hard drive Then, Choose to install XP, go on the partition from your hard drive, press D to delete it, press F to format it, then install XP

yeah, wipe vista off your hard drive and do a fresh install of xp.

You must start the computer in recovery mode or the disc, you can't simple just run it from the disc like a normal driver.

You have to boot up with the CD to load it. But before you do this, make sure your laptop will run with XP. Some of the newer motherboards will not run on XP, for example. You also need to look for XP drivers for all of your devices.

Check with Lenovo's tech support to see if XP is supported on your computer. XP is ancient and obsolete and won't run on some modern computers, especially laptops. And since downgrading isn't supported, you'll need to format the hard drive before installing it. If the computer won't support XP, at that point you'll have an expensive boat anchor.
