I worked for ibm and they don't have good techs.. only a few can really fix the newer units.. so when it go out u gone probably be sending it in a few times till it get fixed right.. mac is virus free but cost a pretty penny to repair.. goodluck.. its more a pc vs mac question its on u.. I have no clue but you are pullin up complaints about macbooks overheating supporting what i typed at first u genius.. read what i typed genius .. Ibm don't have many good techs.. But they will fix it if it's not done right the first time.. B!! Mac is virus free TRUE, but when a mac break down it cost a pretty penny to get fixed.. Ibm = Impala vs Mac = Cadilac.. Yea its smoother ride but u got more options whn it comes to cutomizing with a impala.. and the cost of maintaining is cheaper..

Lenovo laptops work quickly and efficiently. Their battery life is fairly good, and are perfect for commercial-professional use. They may be expensive, but not as much as a mac. Although virus-free, apple cannot guarantee that in the future. Also, macs are expensive to repair or replace. They work well for home and commercial use. However, your preference is most important. Windows and Mac offer different interfaces and experiences. Try them out first, and see what you like better!

Nobrainer. Lenovo is a good laptop, and half the price.

I use it for around 4-6 hours a day for Uni assignments. But over the past few days its been getting very hot. I tried putting it by the window to see if that helped, but it didn't. Can anyone suggest a reason why the fan is running all the time? My macbook isn't recognizing the battery ? in the top right hand corner where it normally has a picture of a battery it has a picture of a plug and on the bottom where the 4 lights are they don't flash anymore i don't think it recognizes that the batteries there. my brother used the charger on his and it worked so its not the charger HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd recommend a Lenovo any day. Especially the IdeaPad Y series. I guess I'm turning into a fanboy. What you should consider doing is contacting the department head at the college you are going to attend, and ask them what they advise for you buy for your major. It'd be pointless to pay the premium for a Mac if you don't need too. Lenovo laptops have amazing quality parts, and their tech support is amazing as well. I've never had an issue with them, even when I had an IBM laptop and they were transitioning to Lenovo. So that's my opinion anyway. Others might say to get a Mac, but if you are trying to save a couple hundred bucks, why spend upwards of $1500 on a Macbook when a good Lenovo is $750?
