How can I partition my hard disk in lenovo laptop without formating it? It has winxp (home version) installed.

You can get something called PartitionMagic, but it will cost some money.

If you want a free tool, download Ubuntu Linux. The install CD has a utility that will let you shrink down your existing XP partition and free up space for a new installation of Ubuntu. Run the utility, shrink the partition, then quit without installing Ubuntu. (unless you're doing this so you can install Linux, that is)
