If there is no mention of a default password in the manual that came with that brand new lenovo, return it to the point of purchase. Bring it back. There is no reason why it SHOULD have a password there, without some sort of indication of wht it is, and how to change it to something personal. Sounds more like it was a floor model that some customer PUT a password on. And if by BRAND NEW, you mean that you just got it from a pawn shop, you should call Lenovo/IBM, pay their service fee, and follow their instructions for an out-of-warranty repair. Otherwise, bring it back to where you bought it.

It sounds to me like there a BIOS password on your new laptop. Although I'm not sure why it's on there. There are ways to reset this password though, but it would probably be best to call the manufacturer/retailer. They will probably be able to walk you through doing this quicker.
